DESCRIPTION:Greg Rolf We want to invite you to a fun and educational day of family-ori ented events that elebrate the Rappahannock River!  Next to our National  Headquarters, the Rappahannock provides great resources to the community,  one of which is an excellent venue for all kinds of paddlesports.   Join  us for a fun day on the river! Learn safety tips and skills that will he lp you be a lifelong paddler and to appreciate the Rappahannock, or any ri ver that flows into your life. The day's activities will include: On-wa ter safety and rescue demonstrations  Learn to Stand Up Paddleboard with  the ACA: on-water instruction and learning What’s up with SUP in a flat- water environment  Races for all age groups   Cleanups conducted at fo ur different sites Environmental educational programs and outreach from l ocal conservation organizations End the evening with a film festival unde r the stars! The Reel Paddling Film Festival 2013 World Tour will be makin g a stop in Fredericksburg bringing the year's most exciting paddling adve nture films to you! DESCRIPTION:Wade Blackwood The ACA Board of Directors is the governing body of the ass ociation and meets three times each calendar year.  The Board is comprise d of people with a wide variety of skills and expertise, ranging from envi ronmental scientists and legal experts to volunteers and paddlesports saf ety professionals.  Each and every Board member shares a passion for o utdoor recreation and involvement in the management of the American Canoe  Association. At the Annual Meeting and Awards Banguet individuals and grou ps are recognized and honored by the Board of Directors and ACA staff for  their achievments in furthering the goals of the American Canoe Associatio n. In addition, the Safety Education & Instruction Council, the Natio nal Competition Council, and several National Activity Committee's serve i n advisory roles to the Board and can make policy recommendations for the  Board to consider. ACA members have general powers and authority to vote  on, and conduct certain affairs of the association as described in the byl aws. All ACA members are eligible to, and encouraged to attend the Annual  Membership Meeting each fall
